What makes a Character sound unique in a story?
Come join us as we explore the story of Peter and the Wolf, written and composed by Sergei Prokofiev in this year’s Young People's Concert on November 19.
As we follow Peter and his friends on a journey, we discover each of their distinct personalities through music and sound. But what DOES make each character identify with these specific instruments?
In this interactive and live experience with YOUR Cape Symphony orchestra, we will learn about the different instrument families of the orchestra, drawing specifically on the different instruments and animals that fill the story.
Immerse your students in the story, teach them about expressing their character through music and art and help them discover how different instruments in the orchestra are unique but also work together as one to create a story.
Let's explore together! Two concerts will be presented on Tuesday, November 19th; the first at 10:00 AM, with a second seating at 11:45 AM. Seats for both concerts fill up quickly, so sign-up today and secure your spot!
As always, this program is free to all participants due to generous grant funding and donors!
