Which volunteer opportunities interest you? (Regular & Ongoing - varying commitment):
Lunchtime Game Table Volunteer (1x/week or 1x/month,11:45-1:45, supervise board games at lunches)
Lost & Found Coordinator (1x/week, hang lost & found on racks and advertise items to parents)
After-school Enrichment or Clubs (1x/week, share your skills via an afterschool class through Boys and Girls Club)
Art Classroom Volunteer (1-2x/week, mount and display artwork, help with projects)
Library Activity Volunteer (1-2x/week, offer lunchroom activities such as art in library)
Webmaster (1 hour/week, Review and update website content weekly, http:/
School Safety Committee (1x/month, Work with staff and PTSA to identify safety concerns and needs, including in-school issues and Safe Routes)
School Climate Committee (1x/month, Work with staff to survey school climate and address issues)
Building Leadership Team (1x/month, Work with staff to plan and implement operational and programmatic strategy)
Legislative Liaison/Advocacy Chair (1 hr/month, Keep RESMS community informed of developments that affect SPS. Identify advocacy opportunities)
Special Education Liaison (1x/month, attend SPS SpEd meetings, communicate with PTSA)
Raven's Call Newsletter Editor (1x/week, solicit articles, edit, publish e-newsletter)
Weekend Backpack Program (1x/week, work with staff and Ballard Food Bank to ensure food security for students on weekends)
Monthly Financial Reviewer (1x/week, perform brief monthly financial review of accounts to ensure fiscal responsibility and best practices)
Parent-Teacher Liaison (1x/month, attend staff meetings or have direct meetings with staff to determine needs and collaboration opportunities)

Spirit Wear Coordinator (2x/year. Order, track, distribute RESMS tees, hoodies, hats, etc. Redesign or use existing logos)
Parent Education Events Coordinator (2-3x/year, plan parent ed events at school - work with PTSA/counselors)
Music Program Volunteer (FORESMA) (Coordinate or volunteer: concerts, field trips, and fundraising)
Community-Building Events Coordinator (Organize or volunteer at events such as parent meet-ups, family socials, coffees, new student nights, multicultural night)
Finance Assistant/Accountant (2-3x/year, Use background in accounting/finance to assist PTSA in filing non-profit paperwork and budgeting)
Reflections Art Content Coordinator or Assistant (Sept - Nov, advertise and coordinate student submissions to Reflections contest)
8th Grade Promotion (May-June, ceremony end of June, Help plan 8th grade promotion ceremony with staff. Detailed notes and photos available from last year.)
Staff Appreciation (2-3x/year, Organize and manage staff appreciation activities with other volunteers.)
Ski Bus Coordinator/Volunteer (Jan-Feb, Help coordinate with Mohan, communicate to participants, chaperone on Friday evenings (six week season)
Fundraising Assistant (mostly Sept-Oct, assist VP Fundraising with annual giving campaign; Fred Meyer and Amazon passive fundraising)
PTSA Membership Coordinator (mostly Sept, recruit and register new PTSA members)
Musical Production Assistant (Feb-May, work with drama teacher to produce musical)
Giving Tree Coordinator (Dec, solicit donations and prepare gift packs for students who need support at the holidays)
Parents' Night Out Coordinator (2-3x/year, coordinate social events for parents/guardians)
Budget Committee (1x/year, help prepare annual budget for vote in May/June)
Sports Team Coach or Team Manager (seasonal,1-2x/week, work with student athletes and other coaches - soccer, track, volleyball, basketball, ultimate frisbee)
New Student/Family Outreach Coordinator (mostly spring, communicate with feeder schools, coordinate information and PTSA activities for tours and new student nights)
Which volunteer opportunities interest you? (Occasional):
Field Trip Chaperone (Attend and help supervise students on trip, typically one per year per grade)
Grade Level Representative (one each for 6th, 7th, 8th. Work with PTSA/staff to coordinate activities and communications as needed)
Picture Day Volunteer (Sept 18, 2-3 hour shift, Assist staff as necessary to get classrooms to photographer)
Occasional At-School Helper (Help out from time-to-time with activities such as staffing PTSA tables at events, set-up/clean-up, lunchtime spirit wear distribution, etc.)
Spanish Translator (Help PTSA translate materials as needed)
Communications and Technology Chair (Act as consultant, help research & implement technologies, provide guidance as needed)
Grant Writer (as needed, research and apply for potential grants)
Graphic Designer (for spirit wear logos or communications)

In addition to these roles, we are interested in what our community has to offer to make our school great! Please tell us if you have any special skills or areas of interest you’d like to share. Examples: grant writing, graphic design, photography, theater, video production, cooking, science, math, spanish, sports coaching, etc. Or, just leave us a note.
