INVITATION TO RESPOND TO THIS QUESTIONNAIRE:
Universitat de València would like to invite you to complete a questionnaire about your collaboration experience with the results of the SILKNOW project, funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement Nº 769504.
The questionnaire is being conducted by the principal researcher, Dr. Marcos Fernández in conjunction with Dr. Esther Alba, Dr. Cristina Pórtales and Dr. Jorge Sebastián, all them members of the Universitat de València.
The principal aim of this questionnaire is helping Universitat de València to better understand your perceptions of working with the results of the SILKNOW project. In addition, the learning from this will be drawn together with other evaluations of Universitat de València’s work and shared with the international community of researchers and practitioners working in digital humanities, pursuing to improve best practices.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN WITH THE DATA FROM THIS QUESTIONNAIRE?
The questionnaire results will be available to the SILKNOW project consortium.
Universitat de València will use the data collected in this questionnaire for improving the results of the SILKNOW project.
Universitat de València may share aspects of the analysis with research audiences. This includes academic publications, blogposts, practitioner reports, conference papers and talks.
The questionnaire data will be gathered anonymously.

WHAT ARE THE POSSIBLE DISADVANTAGES AND RISKS OF TAKING PART IN THIS STUDY?
There is a small risk that you might feel uncomfortable about responding honestly to the questions. Besides that your responses will be anonymous, as you and colleagues know, we are conducting this study in a collaborative, constructive spirit, to support SILKNOW project.

WHAT ARE THE POSSIBLE BENEFITS OF TAKING PART IN THIS STUDY?
The intended benefits of this study, including that insights and feedback, will allow SILKNOW project to improve the quality of its results. The wider science advice community will also benefit from observations, as they will be able to draw on lessons learnt to improve their own practices.

CONFIDENTIALITY AND PERSONAL DATA
No personal data will be collected through this research activity. Please note that confidentiality may not be guaranteed, due to the limited size of the participant sample. However, all data will be treated anonymously.
What will happen with the data after the project has finished?
The full dataset will be retained for 5 years by the SILKNOW project consortium, and will be stored on the computers of the SILKNOW project at the Universitat de València ICT system. After these periods, data will be destroyed. All files will be secured on encrypted, password protected computer systems.

DO I HAVE TO TAKE PART?
Consent to participation is entirely voluntary. If you decide to consent to completing the questionnaire you can withdraw at any time throughout the data collection process without having to give a reason why. If you decide to withdraw you will be asked what you wish to happen to the data you have provided up that point. A refusal to participate will not disadvantage you in any way or affect your relationship with Universitat de València. Please read all the following information, and discuss any questions you may have with the principal researcher, Dr Marcos Fernández, before deciding whether to consent to completing the questionnaire. INFORMATION
The SILKNOW thesaurus  (https://skosmos.silknow.org/en/) is the only controlled vocabulary dedicated to silk heritage. It includes more than 800 terms that not only come from academic and historical sources but also from traditional weavers. Terms that can be found include silk weaving techniques, designs, looms, costumes, etc. All these terms are hierarchized with the aim to help museum professionals and researchers with cataloguing. It was built in four languages: Spanish, French, English and Italian and it was created by professional researchers including art historians, historians, philologues and weavers.

This survey is intended to corroborate that this free and open-access tool is useful to the cultural heritage sector.
