Join Dance Exchange’s Winter Institute, from January 4 to 7, to explore intergenerational dancemaking!
As we continue to celebrate a legacy that has pioneered a path for artists working towards change in and with their communities, and build on creative practices that connect people across age and difference, we invite you to join us in our studios and out in our community in growing our capacities as facilitators, dancemakers, and leaders in intergenerational collaboration. Together, led by Dance Exchange artists and local partners, we will participate in a daily movement practice, share collaborative practices and tools for dancemaking, intersect with Dance Exchange projects and repertory, and cultivate a deeper understanding of our role as artist-citizens. This will be a supportive environment for focused training and development for practitioners of all ages and physical capacities. Anyone 18+ years of age is welcome and encouraged to join this intergenerational experience. No experience required!
As part of our Organizing Artists for Change initiative, Dance Exchange Institutes emphasize process and performance, dialogue and dancemaking, and the role of artists as changemakers through innovative creative practices and dancemaking. Institute participants will join from our local region and across the globe to gather as leaders, innovators, movers and thinkers.
