The UMass Lowell Co-op Scholars program provides students with an exciting experiential learning opportunity, working directly with College of Fine Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences faculty on research or community focused projects.
A Community Co-op is a work placement with a community-based organization, small business or governmental agency. A Research Co-op is a work placement within the university in which a student will assist a faculty member on a research project. In some cases, a Co-op Placement may be considered both a Research and Community Co-op. These co-ops will not be connected to a course, however, students will co-create learning objectives with the guidance of a faculty mentor.
We are currently collecting information from faculty in the College of Fine Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, regarding potential Co-op Placements. Students will complete their Co-ops either during the 2012-2013 Academic year (approximately 300 hours). Should you be intersted in particpating in this opportunity, and mentoring a student, please fill out the information below. Please send in all Co-op Placement Information as soon as possible, preferably by August 22nd.
