North America CACS 2017 Conference Volunteer
DATES: 29 April - 4 May 2017

In order to become a volunteer for the conference, you will need to complete ALL of the following steps:

STEP 1. PERSONAL INFORMATION/PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT
Fill out the information below and click “Submit” when complete. This will take you to the
confirmation screen.

**DO NOT CLOSE THE CONFIRMATION SCREEN**

STEP 2. WRITE DOWN YOUR DISCOUNT CODE
On the confirmation screen, you will see a Discount Code for Conference Registration.
Write this down, as you will not be able to go back to this screen after this point in the
process.

STEP 3. SIGN-UP FOR VOLUNTEER ROLE
On the confirmation screen, click the link to be redirected to the sign up form, where
you’ll be able to review and select volunteer role(s) available. All roles will be filled on
a first come, first served basis. If you need to cancel or change your shift prior to the
event, you can also manage that from the form: http://signup.com/go/38k8LZ

STEP 4. REGISTER FOR THE CONFERENCE
Within one-week of signing up for your volunteer role, you must register and pay for the
conference. Use the above discount code from the confirmation screen to reduce the
rate by US$1250 (to US$495/member or US$695/nonmember.) If you volunteer for a
workshop, please register for the conference only. www.isaca.org/cacs2017

**IMPORTANT: Anyone that does not register and pay within ONE-WEEK of signing up
will be removed from the position that they signed up for, and the position will be
re-opened on a first come, first served basis.**

GUIDELINES:
A. All volunteers must serve a minimum of one shift to receive the registration discount. Individuals who do not fulfill their full shift or who cancel will be invoiced for the full registration price. If the individual is unable to attend the conference at all, the conference cancellation policy will apply.

B. Volunteers will receive two confirmation emails. The first will have a copy of the Participation Agreement. The second will confirm the role(s) and shift(s) selected and provide instructions to modify the schedule if needed.

Volunteer Role Descriptions
ISACA offers the following roles to volunteer onsite at North America CACS. Descriptions will also be listed on the available shifts on the sign up form. All roles will be filled on a first come, first served basis.

PRE CONFERENCE SET UP
Help ISACA staff onsite prepare the materials that each conference attendee will receive when they come to the registration counter.
• Help unpack materials.
• Place items into sponsor bags.
• Prepare attendee name badges.

REGISTRATION DESK
Greet conference attendees at the registration counter and help provide their conference materials to them. This role is a frontline position and a warm, friendly personality is needed.
• Print attendee’s name badge.
• Provide attendee’s their onsite materials (program guide, attendee bag, etc.).
• Assist in answering attendee inquiries.

WAY FINDER
Provide directions within the conference venue hotel and help attendees find their way. While attendees make their way through the conference hallways, guide them to their desired destination(s).
• Provide answers to the most common directional questions asked such as registration desk, exhibit hall, general session room, concurrent session rooms, lunch, receptions.
• Serve as a back-up for other volunteer roles (such as session room monitor or registration desk), in case of a last minute cancellation.

SESSION MONITOR
Assist Volunteer Lead and session presenter(s) with assorted duties.
• Help speaker(s) with presentation set up and hand out any relevant materials to the attendees.
• Make sure that all attendees scan into the session they are attending.
• Usher attendees to available seating within the session room.
• Make general announcements and reminders to session attendees.
• Complete the Room Monitor Sheet during the session and return it to Volunteer Lead.
• Monitor room environment (i.e. room temperature, cleanliness, etc.) and inform Volunteer Lead of any issues, attendee complaints or feedback.

PRE/POST CONFERENCE WORKSHOP ROOM MONITOR*
*NOTE: Workshop room monitors must commit to serve for the entire duration of the workshop they sign-up for (which spans 2 days). Workshop Room Monitors will be able to claim additional CPE for the workshop they sign up for and will also receive the discounted registration for the conference.
