Geek Kon 2017 Artist Application
Geek.Kon XI (2017) August 25-27 at Madison Marriott West
This application was for Geek Kon 2017 and the deadline for that convention was April 30th of 2017. If you are applying for any convention other than August 25-27, 2017 you are in the wrong place. Applications for Geek Kon 2018 should be up in late 2017 or early 2018 but an application here will not be considered for Geek Kon 2018.
Application Instructions:
This Artist Application Form is NOT a guarantee you will be admitted as an Artist to Geek.Kon on August 25-27, 2017. This form exists so that we might evaluate you and see if you will make a good fit for our event. We are looking for courteous, flexible, cooperative, patient artists selling original art who can provide a fun and happy atmosphere to the shopping experience of our convention members. Prior acceptance is no guarantee that you will be accepted this year as our primary concern is for a varied, exciting artist alley. Further there are no guarantees that you will receive the same location in artist alley as last year since we would like to spread out similar artists throughout the room.

Please fill out this form electronically. If there is a problem filling it out through Google Forms feel free to print it out and return to Geek.Kon either via email: or via postal mail to:

Geek.Kon, LLC
P.O. Box 5191
Madison, WI, 53705
Attn: Artist Relations

The deadline to apply is midnight, April 31, 2017 at midnight. We will contact you with further information in the event that you are selected to be an artist for Geek.Kon 2017.

Please keep in mind that these rules have been set due to problems that have occurred at past conventions. Any violations of these rules may result in consequences up to and including ejection from the site, banning from future Geek.Kon events, and notification of the appropriate authorities if any laws have been violated.

Artists must sell their original creations or copies of their original creations. Products based on licensed works (including licensed plans or patterns) must have the approval of the license holder.

Bootlegged materials are STRICTLY forbidden. There will be both staff and attendees trained to spot bootlegged materials at the event. Spot checks for bootlegged materials WILL NOT be announced.

Each artist will be assigned one or more tables. All of your belongings must be on or under the table or behind it between the table and the wall or "pipe and drape." In addition, please do not move the table without permission from artist relations staff or the convention chair.

Everyone attending the event must conform to the rules of the convention. Please emphasize this to your staff/helpers and help us keep this event one that both attendees and artists would choose to come back to by notifying staff if anyone is violating our rules.

Please ask for a photo ID when selling any adult materials and merchandise them in such a way that minors are unlikely to come across them without reasonable effort. Quite of a few attendees are children with their parents so we try to keep the atmosphere family friendly in areas not restricted to 18+.

This application must be completed fully and accurately to be considered for a spot in artist alley. Incomplete or inaccurate information will not be considered and if discovered may be grounds for banning from future Geek.Kon events.

These rules may be added to or modified at any time by the artist relations staff or convention chair. Furthermore, exceptions to these rules may be granted only by artist relations staff or the convention chair.
