Service Projects/Sites

Bethel AME Church of Ardmore : 

As the Church continues to prepare for its construction undertaking, volunteer support would help box and organize items inside Bethel AME Church of Ardmore. There will also be a seed sorting station to assist with packaging seeds to support our neighboring growers. Please bring a water bottle, snack, and lunch as needed!

Time: 9AM-1PM

Location: Bethel AME Church of Ardmore, 163 Sheldon Lane, Ardmore PA 19003

Parking: Street parking available on Sheldon Lane and Walnut Avenue

Bethel Community Garden: 

Volunteer support will help create native seed bomb packages and prepare our growing space at Haverfarm for the growing season of 2024! In preparing our temporary plot at Haverfarm, we will be spreading fresh soil and compost, using shovels and rakes. Both projects will take place outside. We strongly recommend dressing warmly and with layers! Please wear shoes you don't mind getting dirty. Please bring a water bottle, snack, and lunch as needed!

Location: Haverfarm, Haverford College

Directions: 

If you are coming from W. Lancaster Avenue, make the turn onto Ardmore Avenue. Continue on Ardmore Avenue for two lights, at the second light make a right onto W. County Line Road. Follow this road until you reach a gated entrance/parking lot facility. Make a left turn into Haverford College's Vistor's parking lot. Continue through the parking lot, following the route around the bend. Please be careful of students and pedestrians. Once you reach the stop sign, make a left. Follow this road past the second visitor's parking lot. At the end, make the first turn available into the grounds of Haverfords Arboretum and Haverfarm. Please park here! 

If you are coming from Haverford Road, make the turn onto Ardmore Avenue. Continue on Ardmore Avenue and make a left onto W. County Line Road. Follow this road until you reach a gated entrance/parking lot facility. Make a left turn into Haverford College's Vistor's parking lot. Continue through the parking lot, following the route around the bend. Please be careful of students and pedestrians. Once you reach the stop sign, make a left. Haverfarm: 

Volunteers will help to organize the Haverfarm shed and help to install a fence with Haverfarm Manager Cassandra Brown. Both projects will take place outside or with semi-shelter available. We strongly recommend dressing warmly and with layers! Please wear shoes you don't mind getting dirty. Volunteers assisting fence installation will be working close to the ground, kneeling, and with your hands! Gloves and light training will be provided! Please bring a water bottle, snack, and lunch as needed!
