Application for Employment at Strattonwood Swim Club
Thank you for your interest in working at Strattonwood Swim Club for the summer of 2021. We missed everyone and the pool so much last summer but we are glad to back! For those of you who are new, welcome! We are looking forward to a fun summer with some exciting changes. A long overdue clubhouse remodel is just about complete and the pool deck has been repaired and refreshed. We are also implementing a pool management program which our staff will be using in tandem with our members to check-in members and manage the reservation process required of us this season due to COVID-19.
Read below for some important information about the upcoming season.
Updates for 2021 due to COVID-19 limitations on swimming pools:
-We are hiring for lifeguards and swim lesson staff only this season.
-All swimming at the pool is required to be reservation only.
-Due to the capacity limits required, we will be not need more than two guards on site at any given time so the number of guards to be hired is less than a typical year and scheduling will be predictable and completed in advance.
-Priority hiring will be given to those who can work the entire summer season. Substitute guards are always needed so don't let your availability keep you from applying.
-Non-members and those not on swim team are encouraged to apply.
-Interviews will be scheduled in advance, individually, and will be conducted via Zoom. No more waiting around for 2 hours for your interview.
-Mandatory paid trainings will be conducted for everyone hired before the first day of work, including substitute guards. Dates will be published later this spring.
-We have revamped our compensation program including the hourly pay.
Hourly rates of pay will be based upon experience.
0-1 year guarding experience - $15.00/hour
1-2 years guarding experience - $16.50/hour
3+ years guarding experience - $18.00/hour
Requirements for all positions:
-Must have an email address.
-Requires the use of a smart phone to use the mobile app When I Work for availability, scheduling, and clocking in and out.

Important Dates (these dates are tentative and subject to change):
Applications Due: March 15th
Interviews: Weeks of March 22nd and March 29th
Offers of employment sent: By April 12th
Pool opens for swim team: May 10th
Mandatory staff training: TBD
Pool opens for weekends only: May 29th
Pool opens daily: June 17th
Pool closes: September 6th
