We're glad that you're interested in joining the upcoming Strengthening Families Class!
When: This is a 7-week session that meets on Tuesdays from April 7th-May 19th (5:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.)
Where: Excelsior Springs Community Center--Party Rooms
Hosted by: Excelsior Springs SAFE. The class will be taught by certified Strengthening Families instructors.
Details: This class utilizes the evidence-based Strengthening Families 10-14 curriculum to help strengthen family communication and bonds between parents and children. The class is designed for parents/caregivers and their 10-14 year-old children, however children a year or so beyond those ranges are welcome to attend. Childcare at the Community Center is provided for younger siblings. A catered dinner is provided for all family members each week from 5:30-6:00. Parents and Youth participate in separate sessions from 6:00-7:00 and then a combined family session from 7:00-8:00. The classes, dinner, and childcare are all provided free of charge through grant funding and community partnerships.
We understand that illness and conflicts arise, but we ask that you make every effort to attend all seven classes.
