Beginning Improvisation Master Class with Tim Savage
The Arts Program of NNY is excited to be hosting this Beginning Improvisation Master Class with Tim Savage!

When: Saturday, February 24 from 9am-12pm
Where: Christian Fellowship Center in Potsdam (41 Main Street)
Cost: $15 per person at the door
Ages: 13+

Tim will be teaching how to take a piece of music and turn it into your own confidently using basic improv knowledge. Students should bring an instrument of their choice – this session is designed to be participatory in nature.

There are a few requirements:

Participants should:
• have a working knowledge of basic music notation (recognize notes as written on staff with treble and/or bass clef)
• be able to play a chromatic scale (continuous half steps) on their instrument
• bring an instrument (or more) as this class will be participatory in nature -- (vocalists are encouraged to use a keyboard - if you don't have one of your own and cannot find one to borrow, let us know)
• come with a notebook and pencil
• come with a recording of a song of choice to work on (any genre)
