In-person Crit Registration!
Hi all!

We're organizing a few curated crit groups (for free) for artists who would like to feel connected to others and advance their artwork
Anyone can participate in a critique, and all stages of work are fair game (finished pieces or early research stage included). Critiques are being facilitated for free.
The crits will take place at Contracommon in the Hill Country Galleria in Bee Cave, Texas.
12912 Hill Country Blvd f140, Bee Cave, TX 78738

What is your preferred medium(s)? *
Give us a little bit of an inside scoop about your work. 3 - 5 sentences would be cool, but it's up to you. *
Tell us about the kind of work you'd like to critique.  Is the work in-progress? Early stages or somewhere in the middle?  Are you pretty much done with it? Is this one single piece, or part of a larger body of work? *
What "intensity level" of critique are you hoping for? *

Will your work require any extra equipment to be viewed? i.e. a projector or screen to watch video work

Critique Structure:
The critique structure will be unique to each group, but overall:

-There will be a crit moderator to help keep the group on-time and on-task. Crits should last an average of 1 - 1.5 hours, depending on group size.
-Each artist will receive a set amount of time to speak about their work (approx. 5-10 minutes, depending on group size and intensity level).  Each member of the crit group will be allowed a set amount of time to speak to the presenting artist, ask questions and provide constructive critique.  The group will rotate until all have presented.

Anything else you want to tell us or ask us?
I understand that rude, destructive, or reactionary behavior in crit groups will not be tolerated. These behaviors will be met with permanent removal from the crit group process. *

What's next:

After the critique, you'll receive a short survey in your email. Let us know how it went, if you'd like to continue with weekly or monthly critiques, or if you'd like to stay in the same group or try another. We want your feedback!

If for some reason you cannot join the crit group you've been assigned, please respond to the email as soon as possible. If you do not receive an email with your crit group information, please send a message to aderholf@gmail.com.

Critiques are being facilitated free of charge. The moderators are accepting thank-you's via donations to ContraCommon, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts organization based in West Austin. Visit their website (contracommon.org) for more information, or donate via paypal (contact@contracommon.org) or Venmo @contracommon.
