The workshop highlights Title IX requirements and reasonable accommodations as they apply to employees.

Government regulations such as Title IX and the ADA Section 504 are designed to help protect members of the university community but are only as effective as the faculty and staff who implement them. Most faculty members are entrenched in their primary areas of academic expertise to carry out their academic and research agendas to best serve the institution. Staff are equally focused on delivering on their unit’s mission and goals as it pertains to supporting the university community. Despite the annual online Title IX and Harassment Prevention training hosted within Canvas and the face to face sessions offered throughout campus, you may still have questions about how these regulations impact you, your colleagues, the classroom, those you supervise and the students.

This 50 minute seminar provides the following learning outcomes:

· Recognize when and what content to report matters relating to ADA or Title IX

· Handle self-reporting of disability diagnosis on the job or in the classroom

· Identify the campus resources available to members of the University community impacted by alleged discrimination

· Recognize your obligations under the ADA and Title IX

· Recognize actions which may be considered discriminatory under the ADA and Title IX

· Understand the types (both hidden and visible) of disabilities that are protected under the ADA

· When and how to engage the Title IX and Deputy Title IX Coordinators

· More
