The Journey to Mount Tuam
An epic journey into the wild magic of Mount Tuam takes time and planning. Depending on where you are coming from you may choose to drive or fly. Each of those choices then includes a ferry ride (or two) out to Salt Spring island. You can choose to drive onto the ferry, or walk on.

Walking On
- The easiest way to get to Salt Spring from Vancouver, if you want to walk on the ferry, is from Tsawwassen, BC (near Vancouver). You would catch the ferry from Tsawwassen to Swartz Bay Terminal on Vancouver Island, then hop on another ferry from Swartz Bay to Fulford Harbor on Salt Spring Island. We will have a shuttle service from Fulford Harbor up to Mt. Tuam.
- From Victoria Airport you could take a cab or bus to Swartz Bay, and walk onto the Fulford Harbor ferry.
- Another option for walking on is from Anacortes, WA to Sidney, BC. This route requires taking public transit from Sidney to Swartz Bay (25min ride), where again you would take a ferry to Fulford Harbour.

Driving On
(Here are a few suggested options for those coming by car)
- From Tsawwassen to Salt Spring Island (Long Harbour terminal). This route stops at a few other gulf islands on the way to Saltspring and is usually about a 3 hr trip. The ferry is a bit smaller and reservations are highly recommended. The drive from Long Harbour to Mt Tuam is about 45 mins.
- The Tsawwassen to Swartz Bay, Swartz Bay to Salt Spring route also works for vehicles. This option will be slightly more costly for ferries. Reservations are available for this ferry but not for the Swartz Bay - Fulford Harbor ferry. .You will need to be mindful of the time needed to unload from the first ferry and enter the lineup for the second ferry - give yourself at least ½ an hour.
- From Anacortes, WA to Sidney, BC. You can take this ferry and then it is a short drive to Swartz Bay where you can get the ferry to Salt Spring Island. Reservations are highly recommended.

If you would like additional information about transportation options and the associated costs, please indicate that below.
