Spring 2020 Unified Audition Form
Casting is open to all full-time degree-seeking Mason students, regardless of major, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5. Students audition for all shows to be produced in the semester in one session. Auditions for productions will be held during the first week of classes each semester.

On-time attendance for rehearsals and performances is required. Your availability for rehearsal and performance is determined by conflicts you list on the availability form. Any additional conflicts are subject to prior approval by the Director and the Production Manager.

Strike after the final performance is part of the production experience. Participation is required of all company members.

Photographs and/or videos of you taken during the audition, rehearsal, or performance process may be used by the School of Theater and George Mason University for promotional purposes.

If you are cast in a production, please do not cut, color or otherwise change your hair or appearance until you have talked to the director and costume and/or hair and make-up designer.

From Jacklyn Backhaus, playwright of MEN ON BOATSNOTE ON CASTING FOR MEN ON BOATSThe characters in MEN ON BOATS were historically cisgender white males. The cast should be made up entirely of people who are not. I’m talking about racially diverse actors who are female identifying, trans-identifying, genderfluid, and/or non-gender-conforming.It is my strong preference that Tsauwait and The Bishop (so thusly OG and Seneca Howland) be played by Native cast members. If there are no Native actors in your production, the Howlands/Utes must at least be cast as non-white. If cast, do you believe you fit with this mission of the play? If you are comfortable, please explain:
