General Information About Volunteering at the Gallery
The Campbell River Art Gallery exhibits the contemporary art of senior and mid-career professional artists from across Canada in our Main Gallery, as well as presenting regional and emerging artists in our lobby satellite cases.
The Gallery offers workshops for adults and youth, school and community gallery tours (followed by an art activity), a fundraising Gallery Shop, and other special events and programs.
Volunteers are a vital part of the Gallery operations and there are many opportunities to get involved:
GALLERY SHOP In the Gallery Shop, volunteers generally work a 2- to 5-hour shift weekly. You must be comfortable working with the public, enjoy art, deal with sales, track visitors, register people for art classes and more. You would also have the opportunity to give informal tours of the current exhibition. It’s a fun, creative environment and great work experience.
SPECIAL EVENTS For Special Events, volunteers help with poster distribution, set up and take down, serving food and beverages, and more.
Get involved! If you enjoy art, like working with people, want to gain diverse experience in a community organization, and are at least 15 years of age, contact the Gallery and apply to become a volunteer. All volunteers must participate in training and orientation as well as complete an RCMP criminal record check.
This application will ask for your contact information, volunteer motivations and interests, and availability.
