2019 TSSSA Spring Conference Presentation Proposal
Welcome to Austin February 14-15, 2019 at the Omni Southpark!

Submission deadline for presentations is Friday, January 7, 2019.
You will be contacted regarding approval by Monday, January 14, 2019.
You will need to confirm your participation by Monday, January 21, 2019.

Key Instructions
TSSSA expects the presenter to register for the conference.

TSSSA will provide a space and a screen. The presenter is responsible for any copies and technology including a projector.

TSSSA does not allow presenters to use sessions as a sales platform for products that have a cost. All sessions must allow the participant to turn around your ideas to their school/district.

Theme - Activate Citizenship!
Our theme this year is "Activating Citizenship!" Please ensure your presentation focuses on the theme. Additionally, please accurately align your presentation with the following domains:

Enrich - presentations that are chiefly about a deeper dive into content, within the TEKS strands

Engage - presentations that are chiefly about instructional strategies, namely in a manner that is teaching participants how to turn your idea around to train others

Empower - presentations that are chiefly about leading as either a teacher or district administrator.

For example, a presentation that is about citizenship practices in different areas of the world in the past and today would align well with the "Activate Citizenship!" theme and the Domain-Dimension of "Enrich-History".

Title/Description Instructions
Please ensure that our participants have a clear understanding of the intent of your presentation.

Clarity First - Clever Second

1. Title: Ensure the session title makes clear the central purpose of your presentation. While catchy phrases may seem attractive, without clarity within the title describing your purpose, the audience will quickly move to scan other titles that are more informative before reading the session description.

2. Title Length: No more than 40 words

3. Description: Ensure the session description addresses a) who ideal attendees are; b) what your session is about including the attendees' experience and outcomes; c) why attendees will find your session relevant, engaging, or beneficial.

4. Description Length: It is unlikely a description of one or two sentences will cover it all. But limit your description to roughly 150 words.
