The purpose of the symposium is to communicate the exciting advances of our department to students, faculty, and especially alumni. The symposium is primarily run and coordinated by current graduate students of the Chemistry and Biochemistry Department.
This year, we will be featuring three invited current graduate student speakers from various disciplines of Chemistry, as well as hosting the winner of the Fall 2013 Chemical Sciences Student Seminar Series "Best Speaker" award.
The Symposium will feature:
• Presentations from current graduate students in each of the areas of physical chemistry, organic chemistry, and inorganic chemistry
• A keynote presentation from the winner of the Fall 2013 Chemical Sciences Student Seminar series, Robert Levenson, in the area of biochemistry
• An alumni keynote presentation from Dr. Miguel de los Rios, VP of Research & Development at Fabrus, Inc. in San Diego
• A poster session accompanied by a wine & cheese social event
This is a fantastic opportunity for current graduate students to meet with alumni to share their research and get advice for their future career paths. We hope you will take this opportunity to encourage current and former lab members to attend the event.
