Petition - Moratorium to Stop Amazon in Gorham
Gorham United has launched a new petition calling for a town-wide vote to delay approval of the Amazon warehouse project. This is a new petition, so if you signed a petition related to Amazon in Gorham before September 2026, you will need to sign again! Unlike our previous petition, this is an official petition for a town referendum, so only registered voters in Gorham can sign (you can register to vote at any time!), and you have to sign in person. 

The petition calls for a 6-month moratorium on all development projects that are expected to produce more than 1,500 vehicle trips per day. As the Amazon project is proposing 3,000 trips per day, this would automatically delay approval of the Amazon warehouse for 6 months. Gorham United is circulating this petition. We are an all-volunteer, self-funded group of Gorham Residents. Your name will be used by Gorham United in public fora to indicate the breadth of opposition to the Amazon land deal. We will use the data you submit to help us communicate with town leaders about the need to void the purchase and sale agreement with Amazon and to adopt strong safeguards for future proposals, and to communicate with you about our progress and ways you can pitch in.
