All Practices at Junipero Serra HS (451 W 20th Ave, San Mateo)

May 18 - June 7:

18u & 16u Boys: Tue, Thu, Fri 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm ; Sat 12:00 pm- 2:00 pm

14u & 12u Boys: Mon, Wed 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm; Sat 10:00 am - 12:00 pm


June 8 - July 22:

18u & 16u Boys: Tue, Thu 6:15 pm - 8:15 pm; Fri 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm; Sat 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

14u & 12u Boys: Mon, Wed 6:15 pm - 8:15 pm; Fri 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm; Sat 10:00 am - 12:00 pm


Water Polo Requirements:
All athletes need a USAWP membership (Gold, Silver or Bronze level). They cannot participate in practices without this. USA Water Polo will charge fees for membership.

Expectations:
• Athletes must:
  1. be able to swim 100 yards freestyle and tread water for 30 seconds
  2. have a growth mindset, including willingness to listen and learn.
  3. have stamina for a 2 hour practice
  4. respect the facilities, teammates and coaches

Scrimmages and Tournaments:

SMAC teams will participate in competitive leagues and tournaments.  We hope to be entering teams in the JOs, the Santa Cruz Classic tournament, the West Valley Tournament and the Futures Super Finals. Our participation in such leagues and tournaments is contingent on having enough interested players, but we cannot guarantee participation for all athletes in competitions. You will see a question regarding the JOs on the enrollment form. Once we have those details we will decide how many teams to enter. Rosters will be decided by the coaches based on factors including capacity, availability, commitment, attitude, skills and fitness. 

We will also be creating opportunities for all athletes to play in scrimmages at practice and via friendly scrimmages with local teams.

Juniors Olympics Qualification (Bay Area):

June 5-7 (12u Boys, 14u Boys)

June 12-14 (16u Boys, 18u Boys)


Junior Olympics (Orange County):

July 23-26 (12u Boys, 14u Boys, 16u Boys, 18u Boys) pending qualification


Athletes must be selected to a Junior Olympic Roster and are expected to attend both Qualifiers and the Junior Olympics tournament if team selected for qualifies.

There will be an additional fee (TBD).

USWP Requirements: Athlete must have current USWP Gold Membership, completed Age Verification through USWP, and have a photo headshot uploaded to their USWP account.
