Session 1: Setting the Stage
This session will kick off our circle, providing necessary information and context for our work together. We’ll spend time getting to know each other, clarifying our issue area and reviewing the process and procedure for the rest of our time in the GivingCircle+.
Session 2: Understanding the Issues Part 1
In this session we will begin to learn about the issues and establish a foundational knowledge so all circle members have a common orientation. We will hear from experts in the field, explore big questions and establish a baseline of understanding for moving forward in the process.
Session 3: Understanding the Issue Part 2
In this session we will hear from funders in the space and learn about what is currently working, what is not working, the needs they are seeing, where funding is going and where the gaps are. We will also allocate time to begin discussing next steps with grantmaking.
Session 4: Solution Space Part 1
This session is the beginning of decision making. We will identify our funding criteria and create methods for narrowing down the list of organizations.
Session 5: Solution Space Part 2
We will begin to review submissions, discuss our thoughts in small groups and as a large group, and begin to narrow down the list of organizations.
Session 6: Solution Space Part 3
We will continue to review submissions, discuss our thoughts in small groups and as a large group, and begin to narrow down the list of organizations.
Session 7: Decision Making
This is the final session where we will make decisions about where, and how, to allocate our funds!
