Vanessa Stroup spent 21 years as an educator and administrator in the Garnet Valley School District. She served as a Special Education Teacher, Assistant Principal and Principal at Concord Elementary School. Her selflessness, leadership, commitment to community and ability to build profound relationships throughout all aspects of her life and career are what makes her the remarkable person she is. This scholarship will be awarded to the student or students who possess those same outstanding qualities.
This scholarship is open to ALL Garnet Valley High School seniors who will be furthering their education at the post-secondary level upon graduation who meet at least one of the following criteria:
-has demonstrated leadership qualities or held a leadership role in the school/community
-has a documented disability or diagnosis that has impacted their learning
-has a passion for working with individuals with disabilities
-has selflessly committed to volunteering in the community
-plans to become an educator
-plans to work in the field of mental health
Applicants should submit the application form along with a brief essay (250 words or less) stating why they should receive The Vanessa Stroup Scholarship Award via Google forms or through email to:
