Faith & Film: June 9, 6PM - 8:30PM
Youth and Adults are invited to join us in the Fellowship Hall for a movie followed by discussion. We will be watching Cargo: Innocence Lost, which will bear witness to human trafficking. Snacks will be served. You are welcome to bring dinner with you.
Spirituality of Aging: June 10-13, 9AM - 11:30AM
You are invited to join our friends at The Oratory for a conversation on how we move from who we have been to who we are becoming in our elder years. These sessions will explore where we are in the aging process and how we can recognize the invitations God is extending to us at this time of our lives. This will be led by Sister Susan Schorsten and Sister Gay Rowzie.
Bible Study: June 12, 5:30PM - 7:30PM
Dr. Jim McConnell, Assistant Professor of New Testament Interpretation at Gardner Webb Divinity School, will lead us in Bible study and discussion, in the Fellowship Hall. Bring your own dinner and join us for fellowship from 5:30PM-6PM. At 6PM we will begin Bible study.
Habitat for Humanity: June 15
Join OBC for a morning of fellowship and community service as we complete a Habitat for Humanity Group Build on Saturday, June 15. All skill levels are welcomed as we help with the interior trim of the home for a deserving family in our area.

Selfies, Snaps and WhatsApp: June 25, 6:30PM
Parents of youth (or soon to be youth) are invited to a conversation about the social media world in which their children live. Come with your questions, your concerns and your ideas. Snacks will be served.
Beach Bash: June 29, 4PM-7PM
We had so much fun last year, the Beach Bash is coming back! Invite your friends, neighbors, co-workers. We will gather in the backyard for games, music, food and fellowship.
Peace After Divorce: Tuesday, July 9 - August 13
Peace after Divorce by Renee Smith Ettline, M.Ed., is a six week session for those who are experiencing and or coping with the issues of Divorce. This will be a non-judgmental environment with information about adjustments and life choices related to finding peace after divorce. Group questions and discussion will help you personalize your progress, and Spiritual Support will reminder you of the healing power, grace, love and forgiveness of God. Rev. Suzanne Ringer will lead these sessions.

The 2 requirements for the workshop are that you not date a workshop participate during the course and couples who are divorced, divorcing, separated or dating each other may not attend this workshop together. The cost of the workbook is $15.

Take me out the ballpark: July 26, 7:05PM
Join your church family for a night of baseball and cracker jacks as we cheer on the
Charlotte Knights. The first pitch is scheduled for 7:05PM. Cost is $15.
Caregiver Seminar: August 3, 9AM - 2PM
This seminar is designed to help those who are caring for loved ones or have loved ones in need of assistance and care. This seminar is to encourage the caregiver with support and suggestions for self-care.

Topics will include: Dealing with caregiver stress and burn-out, dealing with family members, respite, questions about Medicare/ Medicaid, advance directives, power of attorney, 5 Wishes, placement verses at-home care, end-of life decisions, DNR, Hospice, how faith and spirituality play a role in caregiving.

An evening with Janée Angel: August 7
Come hear from CBF Field Personnel Janée Angel, who lives and serves in Antwerp, Belgium. She works primarily with the Arabic speaking community. Janée helped establish the first evangelical Arabic church outside of Brussels.
Night of Worship and Ice Cream Social: August 11
We will gather in the Sanctuary at 6PM for an evening of song and scripture, followed by our annual ice cream social.

Dr. Peter Judge, Department Chair of Philosophy and Religious Studies and Professor of Religious Studies at Winthrop University, will lead us in Bible study and discussion, in the Fellowship Hall. Bring your own dinner and join us for fellowship from 5:30PM-6PM. At 6PM we will begin Bible study.
Cyber Safety for Seniors: August 16, Noon - 1:30PM
Join us for a conversation, in the Fellowship Hall, about ways to use the internet and enjoy all that social media has to offer while protecting your identity and sensitive personal information. Lunch will be served. Cost is $5.
Marriage Enrichment Day: August 17
Save the date for a day of fellowship and marriage enrichment with other couples. More
details to come. Cost is $40 / couple.
