Science Policy Coordinator

This role is a good fit for highly motivated and independent graduate students interested in science policy.

Responsibilities and expectations:

  • Responsible for logistics of science policy events, their promotion at JHU, and communication with relevant stakeholders
  • Identify and set collaborations with JHU student groups and other scientific societies outside of JHU
  • Work with the President and VP of Science Policy to develop and organize policy initiatives and events
  • Work with the President and VP of Science Policy to create and maintain relationships with relevant stakeholders
  • Keep working documents in Google Drive to facilitate future leadership transition
  • Attend monthly Leadership Board meetings and sub-group meetings as scheduled

Science Diplomacy Coordinator

This role is a good fit for highly motivated and independent graduate students interested in science diplomacy.

Responsibilities and expectations:

  • Responsible for logistics of science diplomacy events, their promotion at JHU, and communication with relevant stakeholders
  • Identify and set collaborations with JHU student groups and other scientific societies outside of JHU 
  • Work with the President and VP of Science Diplomacy to develop and organize diplomacy initiatives and events
  • Work with the President and VP of Science Diplomacy to create and maintain relationships with relevant stakeholders (embassies, major governing bodies, SNAP, GNSD, etc.)
  • Keep working documents in Google Drive to facilitate future leadership transition 
  • Attend monthly Leadership Board meetings and sub-group meetings as scheduled

Science Communication Chair


This role is a good fit for highly motivated and independent graduate students interested in science communication and social media.

Responsibilities and expectations:
  • Responsible for logistics of science communication events, their promotion at JHU, and communication with relevant stakeholders
  • Work with the President, VPs and coordinators to develop and organize science communication initiatives and events
  • Manage and maintain the organization's social media presence across multiple platforms
  • Keep working documents in Google Drive to facilitate future leadership transition
  • Attend monthly Leadership Board meetings and sub-group meetings as scheduled
