Welcome to the FOURTH annual Cranksgiving event, hosted by Trek Bicycle Auburn to benefit the East Alabama Food Bank (EAFB)! The purpose of this FUN ride is to help the EAFB stock the Opelika Community Market with food items for the holiday season.

Note: Riders must be at least 12 years old to participate in Cranksgiving (no exceptions).

The registration fee for Cranksgiving is $10 per participant (non-refundable). Riders will purchase food items during stops at grocery stores along the route which will be donated at the end of the event to the EAFB Community Market. The projected cost of all food item donations is $30-$40. The registration fee includes an event t-shirt, raffle prizes, food, and entertainment after the ride! Please help us plan accordingly by pre-registering by Sunday, October 19th.

There are TWO route options for riders this year. Both Cranksgiving 2025 route options are available in RideGPS. We encourage you to review the rides prior to registering for the event.

OPTION 1-LONG RIDE (14 miles/2 stops): This route is recommended for intermediate to accomplished riders.

OPTION 2-SHORT RIDE (8 miles/one stop): This route is recommended for beginner to intermediate riders.

Purchased food items will be collected by volunteers at each stop and returned to the USRVR at the end of the event. You may also choose to carry the groceries on your bike with proper equipment. Your final destination is back to the USRVR event center for live music with Stare Blankly (formerly Webster's Wheel), food, and prizes! Every pre-registered rider will receive an event t-shirt and a meal. Food and t-shirts for participants who register on-site will be offered as available. Every rider can enter to win fun prizes from our amazing sponsors.

What you will need: 1) A debit card or cash to purchase items along the route, 2) Bicycle safety equipment (i.e. water, helmet, lights), and 3) a spirt of fun and rider fellowship. This is a RAIN or SHINE event. Please come prepared for weather conditions on the day of the event.

Special Note for Riders Ages 12–18: Riders between the ages of 12 and 18 must meet one of the following requirements to participate:

1) ride with a parent or legal guardian, OR

2) provide a signed Attestation of In Loco Parentis Relationship form.

If option 2 is chosen, both the parent/legal guardian and the designated “in loco parentis” adult (must be 21 or older) are required to complete the form in person before the event begins.

In loco parentis refers to a relationship in which an adult accepts the responsibilities of a parent by assuming and fulfilling parental duties for a child.

All riders are required to have a signed waiver on file prior to the event.
