Award Nomination Form
The Distinguished Alumni Award was established in 2006 to recognize the achievements of Tonkawa High School graduates whose personal lives, professional achievements, and contributions to society exemplify the standards of excellence promoted throughout their education at Tonkawa High School. This award will be presented at Homecoming every year, unless the Awards Committee receives a nomination that is better suited for the Alumni Pride Award.  

The Alumni Pride Award was established in 2019 to recognize an individual who has chosen to remain loyal to Tonkawa by establishing a home, being actively involved with the community, and by supporting the endeavors of the town, school, and churches.

Eligibility
Nominations may be made for any former Tonkawa High School student, living or deceased, who meets the criteria and is at least a 25-year graduate.

Alumni Pride Award Criteria
  • Loyal to Tonkawa
  • Established a home in Tonkawa
  • Active in the community
  • Supports Tonkawa, THS, and local churches
  • Service to THS and/or the THS Alumni Association
Nomination Instructions
Nominations can come from anyone who recognizes the appropriate qualifications in a Tonkawa High School graduate. Please submit a statement of nomination (why the person should be honored) along with biographical information about the nominee. Resumes, magazine articles, newspaper clippings, letters, etc. can be included In the case of a deceased graduate. Also, provide contact information for any available living relatives. Selections are based upon the information received. The Awards Committee will determine if the nominee is most qualified to receive the Distinguished Alumni or the Alumni Pride Award. Nomination forms must be received by April 1st to be considered for the upcoming award year. All nominations will remain active and available for consideration by the Alumni Awards Committee for three years. If not selected after three years, the nomination may be resubmitted. Recipients will be recognized during Homecoming weekend.
