We have a number of tasks to suit all skills and time commitments, from acting as Race Officer to managing activities on the launch ramp....There is something for everyone.
Some tasks do have specific requirements, ie you need to hold a valid NSW Boat Licence AND be a RPAYC member to be able to drive a club RHIB and to be Race Officer requires a reasonable amount of knowledge and training to ensure the safety of competitors and fairness of races, however outside of those examples there are many tasks that provide a do able challenge. On water volunteers also get the added bonus of seeing their friends and kids race close up; sure beats getting another skinny latte at Halyards.
To manage the volunteer activities we are using a third party system designed around sailing club operations called Duty Man. Please go here ( https://dutyman.biz/privsec.aspx) to view their privacy policies.
If you fill in your details below you are consenting to RPAYC providing these details to DutyMan who will then generate a sign up email for each volunteer.
Duties may be allocated to each volunteer and it is hoped that with a good take up it should be no more than twice per season during club racing. Once allocated or selected a duty it will be the volunteer's responsibility to discharge that duty or find a suitable replacement.
The committee has suggested that in the case of Junior members at least one parent (both would also be good) signs up, it is not a requirement for volunteering that the parent be a member. For senior and youth members everyone over the age of 13 is required to sign up. Remember you will get average points on your duty days.
