Thanks to generous donations and the 2023 PEAT Calendar sales we are able to bring back PEAT Needs for a third year. Once again we want to help Peat ECR (incl. undergrads!) fund some of their needs for which there may not be financial support elsewhere.

This can include personal field gear, work-from-home equipment, manuscript proofreading, technical skills-expanding courses (be it statistics, ecology, Indigenous knowledge, you name it), etc.

For each of the three summer months we will fund 3 Peat ECR* with up to $100 CAD. Any Peat ECR (within 7 years of terminal degree) from anywhere in the world is eligible to apply. If you are interested please fill in the form below until the last Friday of the month (May, June, July).

If you are chosen for funding, you will be notified in the first half of June, July or August, respectively. If your application is not chosen in the particular month you applied for, it will be reconsidered until the end of our funding period. There is no need to reapply! If you already received our PEAT Needs funding in one of the previous years, you can apply again, but the merits of your application will be weighed against the fact you already received a grant in the past.

*In case your project title does not sufficiently make it clear, please let us know in the "Anything else you want us to know..." section how your work relates to peat(land) research. Unfortunately, we will have to eliminate applications if we cannot determine that the person applying is, in fact, a Peat ECR.
