Depending upon the game, this information may either be in the game’s About screen (usually accessible from the in-game settings dialogue/menu), or in the game’s VERSION file. When reading the VERSION file, use the VERSION file in the game’s PATCHES subdirectory instead of the one in the main game directory, if it exists. If you are not sure, please make sure your contact information (in the previous section) is valid and write “Not sure”.

Sometimes, online retailers include extra patches or repackage resources in their releases without changing the game’s version number, so it is helpful for us to know exactly where the game came from.

These options appear in the Engine tab of the Edit Game window in the launcher. Not all options are available for all games.

For Linux, please provide the distro and distro version. For Android, please provide the version and the CPU type (x86, ARM, or MIPS). For other devices, please provide whatever version information is appropriate for that device, if any.

This information is displayed in the ScummVM launcher and starts with “1.10.0git”. It can also be retrieved by running `scummvm --version` on the command line. (If you created a custom build of ScummVM, put the Git commit ID here.)
