2026 Nebraska Thespians Workshop Application
We are busy preparing for the 2026 Nebraska State Thespian Festival to be held in Omaha at the Hilton Hotel and Holland Performing Arts Center. The festival will take place on January 8th, 9th, and 10th in 2026.

We are following the same outline as last year with TWO workshop sessions on Thursday, January 8th, and THREE workshop sessions Saturday, January 10th. For Thursday we are focusing on bigger, hands on workshops: Theater games, group activity oriented, workshops where students have to work together/mingle. On Saturday we will be looking for our normal workshop type sessions focusing on things such as technical theater, directing, acting, playwriting, ensemble, devising, and anything along those lines. All workshops will be happening at the Hilton Hotel in Downtown Omaha. 

Please note that Thursday workshop sessions will be 15 minutes longer than sessions on Saturday. This is due to scheduling with other activities during this day, but gives you more opportunity to work with the students for longer and hopefully get more activities in! 

We ask that you please provide THREE WORKSHOPS you would be able to present. We want to make sure we have enough options available along with the best possible opportunities for our students so we are asking that you present multiple ideas you have for workshop sessions. You only have to do one of the three presented but we want to make sure there are options for your sessions in case we have some overlap.

I will be contacting people in November about finalized workshops. We appreciate your application and cannot wait to see all the ideas you have!

WORKSHOP SESSIONS:
Thursday, January 8th
1st Session:  3:30pm - 4:45pm 
2nd Session: 5:00pm - 6:15pm

Saturday, January 10th
1st Session: 12:00pm - 1:00pm
2nd Session: 1:15pm - 2:15pm 
3rd Session:  2:30pm - 3:30pm

COMPENSATION
If you do both workshop sessions on Thursday you will receive $100. If you do all three workshops on Saturday you will receive $150. Each workshop is worth $50 per session. Each presenter is limited to 3 workshop sessions. 

If you would like a Vendor or College Table, you can use your workshop compensation to pay for a standard table. If you would like an upgraded table that will cost a little more than the workshop compensation. Please email Mokrycki@nebstatethespian.com for information on Vendor and College Tables.
