Colectiva Legal del Pueblo, Northwest Immigrant Rights Project, and the Riverton Park United Methodist Church of Tukwila will be hosting a large ProSe asylum clinic on Monday Jan. 20, 2025 in Seatac to help ProSe asylum seekers lodge their applications with immigration. This event is supported by the Seattle Office of Immigrant and Refugee Affairs and Washington State Office of Refugee and Immigrant Assistance.

We need your help!  Please complete this form to volunteer.

This form is intended for interpreters.  We need Spanish, Portuguese, Lingala, and French interpreters with high proficiency. The clinic will run from 8:30 am- 6:00pm, but most volunteers will complete their work before that.

At the clinic, you will work with one asylum seeker (and up to two derivatives) and a form filler volunteer for approximately 2 - 4 hours, helping them fill out their asylum application. After a break for pizza, an immigration lawyer will join your team for another 1-3 hours to finalize the draft application. A second immigration lawyer will conduct a quality review before the application is signed. Some volunteers may finish their cases and be dismissed early, others might be asked to help with other applicants.  

NOTE: The clinic environment can be noisy and crowded. 

Please see the confidentiality statement at the end of this form. Once you complete and sign this form, you will officially be registered for the Jan. 20th ProSe Asylum Clinic and will later receive the materials needed to prepare for this project.

You agree that you will be bound by this agreement to keep all information confidential, not only while you are actively volunteering for the Clinic, but also after your duties as a volunteer have ended.

You hereby agree not to store or keep client information beyond the completion of your volunteer duties. Upon the conclusion of your duties as a volunteer, you will promptly delete any information, data, documents, and/or files obtained while volunteering for the Asylum Clinic.

If you have any questions regarding confidentiality, you will consult with staff from The Asylum Clinic before divulging information to any other person. By signing this document, you are bound to keep all information, including that which concerns clients, potential clients, attorneys, other volunteers, or any other source confidential.
