English instructor:

Ms. Nancy comes to Compass Education Institute (CEI) with over fifteen years of private tutoring experience, helping young people achieve academic success through secondary English, AP Language and Composition, AP Literature, AP Art History, AP US History, AP World History, and SAT/ACT Prep. With her teaching and explanation in SAT English part, students have gained the scores increasing of 100-200 points. Through Nancy’s over ten years of experience as a test scorer for state and national tests with CTB/McGraw Hill, NCS Pearson, and Pearson Evaluation Systems, she has internalized expectations of mastery in reading comprehension and written expression at secondary and college levels. Furthermore, Nancy has worked as a Graduate Student Assistant (GSA) supporting History faculty for both years of graduate school; was in a community college Faculty Diversity Internship Program for one academic year, teaching US History; has taught seventh and eighth grade English Language Arts, and ninth and tenth grade Special Education. Nancy currently teaches eleventh and twelfth grade English and Honors English, as well as being the English Language Proficiency Assessment California (ELPAC) Coordinator for primary and secondary campuses.

Math instructor:
Mr. Sam, the founder of CEI Tutoring, graduated from UC Berkeley in Mathematics. He has taught middle and high school math, SAT/ACT Math, SAT Math Subject Test, AMC, AP Calculus since 2006. He created the TBT Program to cultivate students’ mathematical learning habitation. His SAT curriculum assisted students in improving scores and multiple 800 scores in both SAT and SAT II Math test.
