*What instruments/vocals are eligible? Can I nominate a group?*Performers may be nominated in any solo instrument or for vocals. This includes piano, guitar, string instruments, woodwinds, brass, and vocals. Youth ensembles/groups are welcome to apply as well.
*What do I need to send in for the audition?*Please send in a live video of the individual performing a Christmas selection of their choosing (about 3 minutes in length). This should NOT be a music video. This needs to be a live recording without any editing; an "iPhone video" is fine.
Video must show performer's face, and the performer needs to introduce themselves and their song in the video.
*How will the performers be selected?*The JLB team will review submissions to determine the top applicants based on musicianship (technical skill, expression, pitch/tone) and stage presence.
*What will they perform?*Invited individuals will be given a Christmas song to learn that they will perform with Jason on Nov 24. They will receive the song by Nov 17.
*Is there an age requirement?*We are giving strong preference to high school students in the local community. While younger students or adults may apply, we expect to select high school students.
*What is the deadline?* Applications must be received by *Friday, Nov 16* to be considered. However, earlier application is highly encouraged, as preference will be given to earlier applicants.
*Will I be paid?*We are not able to compensate the guest performers. However, this will be a wonderful opportunity to perform in your community, and to get to know Jason Lyle Black backstage!
*May I nominate more than one person?*Absolutely! Just keep in mind that we are looking for musicians at a pre-college/college skill level (high school performers who have a very high level of musicianship).
*Other questions?*If you have other questions not answered here, please contact David Love at Love Family Piano, who is in charge of the Rexburg concert.
