Carinya offers Basketball as a weekly sport for students in Yrs 7-10. There are 2 competitions each year, (Terms 1 - 2 and Terms 3 - 4). The competition is on a Wednesday afternoon/evening with games starting at 4:20pm. There are separate boys and girls competitions.

Cost: $210 per competition (Term 1-2) - This includes team nomination fees, the NSW Basketball registration fee and weekly entry fees. Payment is done online to Tamworth Basketball. More infomation will come on how to register to players.There is also a $15 equipment cost ontop of the $210 (this covers new balls and equipment). The equipment fee needs to be paid to the Carinya accounts department. An invoice will be sent during the season for this $15. Games and Draw:Games usually commence in Week 3 or 4. Draws will be on the Carinya website (Sports Notes and Draws) every week and can be found on the Tamworth Basketball website ‘www.tamworthbasketball.com’.
Training:Training will depend on the coach (either before school, lunchtime or afterschool)It is very important that parents ensure that players are at training each week, as well as arriving 10 minutes early for games. Absence from training can affect your child’s eligibly to play games. If your child is unable to attend a session you need to inform myself or the coach beforehand in writing or by telephone. Uniform:Players are provided with a team singlet (borrowed through the Library). Players must wear black basketball shorts (without pockets) and Carinya sports socks. Black shorts must comply with the school uniform policy.
Active Kids Rebate:Parents and Carers of school aged children are entitled to a $100 voucher per child per year. This is to help reduce to burden on sport registration fees. Go to https://sport.nsw.gov.au/sectordevelopment/activekids to redeem the voucher.
Please note: Registration and participation in this extra curricula activity is not available if current school fee accounts are in arrears with no agreed payment plan in place.
