Programs and Events Application
Please fill out this form if you are interested in presenting at the St. Charles City-County Library.

Applications should be submitted at least 3 months in advance of desired date. (e.g. January classes must be submitted prior to October 1.) Occasional exceptions are made.

Presenters and performers may be asked to complete a W-9 form and provide proof of insurance. The Library may request a background check, and will research any presenters, performers, or organizations.

We have many inquiries and apologize that we cannot respond to each application individually. All applications are kept on file for possible future use. You will be contacted if your application meets our Classes & Events needs, schedule, and budget.

How does your program or event help us serve our mission?

The Library uses staff expertise, collections, services and facilities in developing and delivering programs and events. The Library’s staff use the following criteria in making decisions about program and event topics, speakers, and accompanying resources: 
 Community needs 
 Availability of program space 
 Treatment of content for intended audience 
 Presentation quality 
 Presenter background/qualifications in content area 
 Budget 
 Relevance to community interests and issues 
 Historical or educational significance 
 Connection to other community programs, exhibitions or events 
 Relation to Library District collections, resources, exhibits and programs 

Explain how your proposed program or event follows these criteria.

The Library has a "no-sell" policy. Presenters may make their own contact information available to attendees, but they may not charge admission, sell products or services, take orders, or collect contact information from attendees. The only exceptions are authors and performing artists, who may sell their books and/or CDs.

Presentations are for educational and recreational purposes only and cannot promote an individual business or product line. Our presenters must refrain from naming solely their product. For instance: Instead of saying "The _______(your brand name) will do this for you", rephrase the statement as "Look for a company that will provide _________(service or product)."
