Welcome to the registration and waiver for the Garden Tour Nature Walk for Saturday, September 19th, 2026. This event is hosted by Rainbow Routes Association & Coalition for a Liveable Sudbury, in partnership with Twin Forks Community Garden & ‘The Robinson Huron Treaty of 1850: Living in Good Relations’ research team.

Registering helps us organize and ensures you get last minute notifications such as cancellation due to extreme weather conditions or other changes. You will not receive a confirmation email immediately after registering, only the day before the hike.

About the Hike
Join us at Twin Forks for a garden tour of the wonderful Twin Forks Community Garden. Then we will walk along the Junction Creek trail to meet some native plants, and learn a little a bit about our Treaty. A walk from the creek along the road will take us to the Place Hurtubise Pollinator and Edible Forest Garden & Community Garden, where we will discover the garden & learn a bit about it, and have the chance to add a few plants to the Edible Forest Garden. We will then make our way back to Twin Forks along neighbourhood streets.

Hike Details:
-When: Saturday, September 19th, 2026
-Time: 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
-Distance: 2 km
-Meet: Twin Forks Playground (1475 Gary Avenue)
-Transit: Take GOVA bus #20 (from the New Sudbury transit hub, at the New Sudbury mall).
-Parking: Free parking available at Twin Forks Playground.
-Dress: Dress for the weather (and for the garden if you’d like to get hands-on), and bring a sunhat and water.
-Difficulty: Easy
-Leaders: Rachelle Niemela (Twin Forks Community Garden lead), Kryslyn Mohan (research assistant with ‘The Robinson Huron Treaty of 1850: Living in Good Relations’ research team, Naomi Grant.

Important Information:

Pre-registration is required to participate in the hike. This ensures that you receive all last-minute notifications, including weather-related cancellations or any changes to the event plan. Note that you will receive a confirmation email the day before the hike.

Our hikes are designed to accommodate participants capable of walking on outdoor trails. Look out for organizers in RRA dark blue vests at the event for any assistance or questions you may have.

I am aware of the nature of hiking activities I choose to take part in, and that I am properly equipped and physically able to participate. I have consulted my doctor (if necessary) and have no medical or other condition left unmanaged that might preclude my participation.

I acknowledge that the activities in which I am participating involve risks that are beyond the control of the association including the potential for disability or death. I knowingly and freely assume all such risks both known and unknown and assume full responsibility for my participation. I agree to pay any emergency costs if and where applicable including evacuation of my person or belongings. The route includes a wide variety of infrastructure, including but not limited to, road crossings, sidewalks of varying conditions, both maintained and unmaintained trails of varying condition, etc.

I give full permission for the use of me and/or my minor child's name, photograph and video image by the Rainbow Routes Association to recognize my participation and promote RRA and its initiatives. If you do not agree, please inform the hike leader at the onset of the event!

I hereby release City of Greater Sudbury and/or other Trail Operator, their employees, volunteers, other participants, partners, sponsoring agencies, advertisers, owners and lessors of premises used to conduct the event (Releasees) with respect to any and all injury, disability, death, or loss or damage to person or property, whether caused by the negligence of the releasees or otherwise.

I recognize and understand that RRA activity hike leaders are volunteers, and do not necessarily have professional qualifications and training to lead their activities to industry standards.

I will stay home if presenting any symptoms of illness such as fever/chills, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, etc.
