About the Board
The Print Factory's board is separated into the following Lead Areas. The accompanying descriptions are not all-encompassing, and are meant to give you a general idea of the duties each Lead Area entails.
  • Admin: running Board meetings, creating and organizing internal files, overseeing the general direction of the non-profit
  • Book Purchasing: analyzing trends in sales and donations to identify need, management of online book purchasing through publishers, creating in-store displays
  • Communications/Marketing: graphic design, social media management, newsletter writing, press release writing
  • Facilities: overseeing the needs in the physical bookstore space, organizing repairs when needed, ensuring utilities are in order, keeping inventory of necessities
  • Finance: budgeting and monthly reporting, analysis of trends in profits and costs, management of accounts
  • Programming/Event Planning: scheduling with community members and partner organizations, identifying opportunities for engaging events, management of materials for events
  • Volunteer Coordination and Recruitment: organizing volunteer coverage at the bookstore using Point, seeking out new volunteers, analyzing trends in volunteer retention, volunteer training
Each Board Member focuses on one of the above Lead Areas or suggests their own! New Board Members, if they have a variety of interests, may have the opportunity to explore a few areas before deciding on one.

I understand that as a Print Factory Board Member, I commit to:

1. Staffing the bookstore for at least one shift a week (about 2.5 hrs per week in-person at 130 S Allegheny St, Bellefonte)

2. Attending monthly board meetings (virtual) and quarterly board retreats (in-person)

3. At least 1 year of service

4. The responsibility of holding keys to the bookstore and participating in votes on the direction of the non-profit
