Greater Govanhill CIC - Board Application
As Greater Govanhill CIC continues to grow, we're looking for new board members. We're particularly interested in members with experience of running social enterprise, business management, HR, media sales or finance. Ideally we're looking for people who live in or near Govanhill and we'd also like the board to reflect the diverse make-up of our community. However, the main thing we're looking for is enthusiasm and commitment to the project.

Board members work to provide strategic direction, set organisational aims and ensure that the organisation remains true to its purpose. The directors are also responsible for ensuring that the company meets its statutory and other obligations.

For more information about the legal role of CIC directors, please see: https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/605421/13-712-community-interest-companies-guidance-chapter-9-corporate-governance.pdf

We require new board members without prior experience to attend relevant governance training And there may be additional training requirements throughout out the year, paid for by the company. The board meets every three months, usually in person in our Govanhill office.

Please note: this is an entirely voluntary role. Although an optional stipend of £25 per meeting is available.
