Seeking New England Activist Musicians: PAID Performance, Education & Project Opportunities
Music to Life is a national nonprofit that builds activism through music, founded by Noel Paul Stookey (of the folk trio, Peter, Paul & Mary) and his daughter, Liz Stookey Sunde. Music to Life is seeking musician partners of all genres in New England (CT, RI, ME, MA and specifically NH/VT based) as it builds its Activist Musician Accelerator (AMA) - the first comprehensive incubator for social change musicians in the country (more on the initiative here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1bsUQeN-pxY5NPN78KOXM1xD6jBGXkrvrQx5cox9VJr4/edit?usp=sharing).

Qualified artists will be invited to join Music to Life's juried roster of activist artists (network of talented musicians who receive performance, educational and funding opportunities) and be eligible for paid participation in the AMA as it travels through New England (Fall 2019 and beyond). Also, selected NH/VT based artists will be invited and offered a stipend to perform/speak at Music to Life's NH benefit event on November 8th 2019 at the Lebanon Opera House along with funds and advisory services for their music-driven social change project. Finally, there may be another paid opportunity for artists who work with (or are interested in working with) teens to create a special project around the issue of teen homelessness (please indicate your background and specific interest in this area, if applicable, on your application).

Through this Call for Proposals, applicants should demonstrate:

** Skill as a performing artist (original songs of concern, or reconceived classics, are encouraged)
** Interest in an issue of concern
** (ideally) 1-3 years experience with community-based, music-driven social change efforts, initiatives or formal projects
** Availability for a Music to Life benefit event (in Lebanon, NH) on 11/8/19

Note: Given Music to Life’s commitment to racial justice, equity and inclusion,we believe that these issues must be central to the work we do. Hence, we strongly encourage applications from women, people of color, and those who identify with or are members of historically marginalized or underrepresented communities.

Thank you for your interest!

Application deadline: Friday May 31, 2019 (deadline extended), at 5:00pm EST (here is link to overview of application: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1gQo3HCp1EjSmzHmZC3hMFUvPFnlDF1P0/view?usp=sharing)
