Columbia County Fairest of the Fair Application 2019
Dear Fairest Applicant,

I am so excited that you have decided to take part in the fairest program. I want to let you know a little bit about this position, go through the process you will go through and give you tips from a former fairest. I want you to be well prepared for this awesome journey.
First, Fairest of the Fair is state and even nationwide program to promote fairs. As a fairest your duty is to be excited and passionate about your fair and the fair industry as well promote your fair to the best of your abilities. With this paperwork you will find a document included called “Fairest Responsibilities”. This is a list of some, but not all things that are required of you as the Columbia County Fairest of the Fair. This position does require work and commitment to your year of service as fairest. However, I will also tell you that is one of the most incredible experiences you will have. So, do not let that list scare you away from applying for fairest. My job as your coordinator is to help you through all of that. If you have any questions regarding the position before you apply feel free to contact me. My contact information can be found at the bottom of this application.
Next, I want to go through the process of becoming the 2019 Fairest of the Fair. After your application is submitted it will be reviewed by a panel of judges and is the first portion you are evaluated on. Our judging and crowning day this year will be held on a Saturday April 13th, 2019. This will be an all day event. On this day you will go through an interview with the judges, a group discussion, and an impromptu question. As well as workshops in professionalism, and communications. After, all these areas of competition are completed the judges will make a decision and we will crown our 2019 Columbia County Fairest of the Fair! I’m excited even writing about it! Your attire for the day should be business professional and you should come prepared with whatever you need for the day.
Finally, I want to give you a few tips from a fairest herself. The most important thing is for you to use this as a learning and growing experience. I know that this is something you hear often, but it is absolutely true! If you are competitive like I am, I can also tell you to go for it and give it your all! If you merely want to have the experience that is just fine too! You should also know about the state fairest program and the position of Wisconsin Fairest of the Fair. You will be required to compete on this level and should be aware and knowledgeable about this topic. Prepare yourself for the day by dressing properly and having comfortable shoes with you. Also, remember this is an interview so a resume is never a bad idea. The second most important and my final thoughts are for you to be yourself and let your fair passion show through! We want to see that from you in this process as well as when you serve as fairest. Thank you for applying for the Columbia County Fairest of the Fair and Good Luck!

Sincerely,
Allison Foster
