PCN Interest Form 2025!
Hey FIA!  We're very excited to announce our interest form for the Philippine Cultural Night (PCN!)

The event will be on Friday, October 24th! Times of the event will be sent out ASAP once we receive more confirmed information.

FIA Cultural will be performing TINIKLING, BULAKLAKAN, and SAYAW SA BANGKO!

Tinikling is a dance that mimics the movement of Tikling birds. Filipino rice farmers set bamboo traps through their rice fields to catch Tikling birds since they were stealing rice grains. As one jumps through the bamboo, they must try not to get their feet caught by the clap of the bamboo
.
Bulaklakan is a lively Filipino folk dance that celebrates the beauty of flowers and the joy of community gatherings. Typically female, the dancers perform with garlands or arches of flowers, moving in cheerful, synchronized steps.  

Sayaw sa Bangko is a traditional Filipino folk dance that showcases balance, skill, and grace. Dancers perform lively steps and acrobatic movements while standing on narrow wooden benches.

YOU DO NOT NEED ANY DANCE EXPERIENCE TO PARTAKE IN CULTURAL!!! As your Cultural Coordinators, we will be working with you guys to make this an enjoyable and rewarding experience! Everyone has the privilege to freely perform traditional folk dancing regardless of dance experience.

YOU MUST BE A PAID FIA MEMBER to perform with Cultural. Membership form is here.

Practices will be often held in the UIC Atrium (where dorming is). We will post how to get there on the FIA Cultural Instagram account (@fiacultural), as well as practice times once this form closes.

SPACE WILL BE VERY LIMITED. We may have to cut people off once we sort and confirm groups. Please do not be discouraged if you sign up late or are cut off-- we may reach out to you to fill in if someone decides to drop out!
