Healthy Pedagogy integrates sincere mindfulness of the health and well-being of instructors and students into course design and the craft of teaching. By fostering caring, creative, and inclusive participation in the classroom and beyond, both teachers and students can experience engaging communities of learning.
Who: Faculty and Teaching Assistants
What: A 6-week, course development certificate program on healthy pedagogy, inclusive excellence, and DEI, exploring various ways these values materialize in teaching and learning contexts. Featuring guest experts across various academic disciplines and organizations.
When: Spring Quarter 2024
7, one and a half hour synchronous meetings featuring guest experts will be held for six weeks online every Wednesday from 11:30am to 1:00pm, beginning April 17th, and ending May 29th.
Where: Online - synchronous and asynchronous
Participating instructors are invited to enhance one aspect of a course using at least one dimension of the UC-Wide, DEI Rubric (GDoc), the UCR DEI Rubric (Request Form for access to GDoc), or one suggestion from the UCR “Healthy Campus Guide to Well-Being in Learning Environments" (PDF ⤓).
Criteria for Participation:
Instructors from across the UC are encouraged to participate informally, regardless of the modalities through which they teach.
