2017-18 Youth Advisory Council Application
The Manistee County Community Foundation's Youth Advisory Council (YAC) is seeking new members for the 2017-2018 school year. YAC members are students from grades 9-12 in any Manistee County high school who have an interest in learning about philanthropy (donations of time, talent, and treasure for community good), exhibit the potential to be leaders, and who would like to be a voice for youth in their community. Members are active in assessing the needs of Manistee County youth, participating in fund development activities to grow the Foundation's Youth Endowment Fund and recommending grant recipients from the Youth Endowment to ensure that it is used to respond to the needs of Manistee County youth. YAC members meet monthly and will have opportunities to participate in leadership training and community service activities.

The YAC generally meets on the 3rd Tuesday of each month from September - May from 9-10:30 at the Manistee Intermediate School District in Manistee. YAC members will be transported by Dial a Ride to and from all meetings.

Each year the YAC seeks to fill vacancies in membership. For 2017-18 the YAC is seeking one current 9th grader from each of the following schools: Onekama High School, Manistee Catholic Central, Manistee High School, Bear Lake High School and Brethren High School. They are also seeking one student from each grade 9-12 from CASMAN Academy.

The application deadline is Sunday, September 17th, 2017. It is anticipated that selected applicants will be notified by September 29, 2017.

If you have questions, please contact the Manistee County Community Foundation YAC Advisor, Hannah Rodriguez, at (231) 723-7269 or at hannah@manisteefoundation.org.
