Webinar: Use of Remote Sensing and AI in the Mine Action Sector
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the Geneva Centre for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD) are pleased to invite you to participate in a webinar on the use of remote sensing and artificial intelligence in humanitarian mine action.

Date: 20 and 22 April 2021 (2 day webinar)
Time: 11:00 to 15:00 CET on both days

The webinar, which will be a virtual event, aims to bring together participants from the mine action sector, private companies, academia and organizations from other sectors that use remote sensing and AI to improve the detection of object.

Day 1 will introduce the topic and discuss the challenges in the technology and its operationalization in weapon contaminated environments. Day 2 will examine in depth how remote sensing and deep learning could be used to help identify mines and EO contaminated areas during non-technical surveys and other activities.

Please complete the registration form below to RSVP. We encourage all interested participants to register by 18th April 2021.

The ICRC and GICHD welcome a diverse participation and encourage women and individuals from mine affected countries to register. Additional information (agenda, access to the meeting etc.) will be sent directly to registered participants in the coming weeks.

For any other queries, please contact Ms. Namrita Singh (n.singh@gichd.org) and Ms. Tamara Pulita (tpulita@icrc.org)
