Dear Community Members,

The Champlain Club recently adopted a new mission statement:

A vibrant home to share, learn, and connect through the arts, dance, music and other events.

The “Champlain Club” name is being retired and we're looking for a new name to better represent our mission. We're a non-profit that owns, manages and maintains the building, separate from the many groups that use it.

Why a new name? 

• The word “Club” can feel exclusive, in a way that doesn't fit our updated mission
• We're looking for a name that reflects our purpose as a home for the arts and community events
• Some people feel the name “Champlain” doesn't respect the area's indigenous history

The Board will be voting on the new name at its November 10 meeting. All are welcome to attend.

PS. Our non-profit corporate name, used for legal purposes, fundraising/grant applications, and taxes, is Goethe Community Trust Inc. This name is not changing!
