Mission: The mission of the Nashville Black Literacy Coalition is to advocate for and implement a community-centered collaborative and initiatives that support and elevate literacy in the Black community. We believe that literacy influences all aspects of community and culture. We strive to create inclusive and culturally relevant educational initiatives that address Black individuals' unique challenges. Through partnerships, advocacy, and community engagement, we seek to eliminate barriers to literacy and cultivate a thriving, educated, and empowered Black community.


Vision: The Nashville Black Literacy Coalition envisions a literary revolution in Nashville's Black community, redefining the narrative where literacy isn't just a skill—it's a fearless declaration of liberation, identity, a powerful tool for advancement, and the key to unlocking boundless potential.
