Program Features:
 - Certified instructors and coaches who stay up to date on continuing education related to safety, horse health, excellence in instruction and teaching strategies, and train other instructors pursuing certification
 - Horses who have all passed their basic safety tests, received professional training, and have a track record of overall consistency at home and in the show ring

Zoom link for workshop will be in your confirmation email on Wednesday or Thursday

Program Rules:
See section below

Important Note:
This is an ONLINE class provided for the purpose of helping orient those interested in teaching therapeutic horseback riding (or becoming a volunteer at a program in Michigan) about the model and the process for becoming trained in it. Because the initial training investment to pursue certification is significant, we wanted to respond to the demand for a simple, accessible first step by bringing this class to you and discounting the rate to $15.

Some of our instructors and instructors-in-training are a part of PATH Intl. (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International)'s certification program, which encourages safety and best practices in equine-facilitated services. PATH provides the industry standards and policies which your instructor strives to follow.

Please read the following rules and responsibilities closely prior to agreeing to the participant requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF PARTICIPANTS & CLASS RULES:

·       No alcohol, smoking, drugs, weapons or firearms are allowed on the premises.

·       Be respectful of other class members by using appropriate behavior and language in a community setting. Do not take photographs of any other class members unless they ask you to do so.

·       Students are responsible for arriving on time to each class or notifying their instructor with any needs to be absent or tardy.

·       Participants are not allowed to use their cell phones during classes for calls or texts other than emergencies, or to record classes without permission.

·       Refunds: If a student is late they will not be able to be given additional time or refunds. Students will also not be refunded if they  need to miss the class, since class time is reserved and instructors hired based on initial registration. No rescheduling can be accommodated, even with advance notice.

·       Please note that we have a small office team that works hard to keep up with a very active program and waiting list. They reserve the right to limit participation to those who are following program policies and ask those who are unable to do so to seek services elsewhere. Repeated attempts at registration without payment, for example, get in the way of their ability to offer spots to our waiting list in a timely manner, and can result in no longer being invited to register for classes.

·       Type of Service: Some of upcoming workshops are being facilitated or co-facilitated by a licensed therapist serving as workshop instructor; however, it's important to note that they aren't therapy itself, but simply educational workshops. If you would prefer therapy, please visit connected-hope.com to learn more about our counseling offerings. Thank you!

Some of our workshops this year are being co-sponsored through the Arabian Horse Association (AHA), highlighting the wonderful breed of horse that is primarily featured in our program. AHA would like permission to email you about future opportunities like this, including the grants they provide.

Is there any information the instructor needs to know about you as the student (particularly any medical or behavioral needs or limitations) in order to safely and successfully instruct you in a group setting? *
The safety of our students and horses is our number one priority. Should any students display behavior that puts other students or horses at risk, instructors may determine that a group class is not an appropriate fit for that student. If you are in a group class, do you agree to help prioritize the safety of the horses and the other members of your group by listening to your instructor?  *
Please list 2 emergency contacts (names and their phone numbers). These will only be utilized if someone experiences a medical emergency on the screen (such as fainting): *
Thank you! We will be in touch prior to your first class to help you get ready to get started, and look forward to sharing this experience with you!
