BNV MC Olympics 2021 Registration Form
ATTENTION: Calling all wordsmiths and rhyme sayers! WE BACK AT IT AGAIN WITH VIRTUAL MC OLYMPICS.
Got bars? Write songs? Spit off top? Sign up for BNV MCO 2021! Taking place on Saturday July 24th at 4:00p - 5:30pm PST. (*Be prepared to be called at least one hour before showtime for sound check and MC huddle).

MC Olympics is an annual olympic-style competition featuring the dopest emcees at Brave New Voices. Through several rounds of exercises showcasing pen game and personality, we seek to highlight every emcee’s skill level across hip-hop’s various styles and sub-genres. MCO is also a networking event to cypher, meet other dope artists, and have fun. Sound like something you wanna get down with? More info below!

Emcees looking to take home the crown should come prepared to participate in the following:

Upon being introduced at the beginning of the show, you're invited to spit a quick 8 bars to introduce yourself to the audience.

DJ drops the beat and you kick rhymes off the top of the dome. No writtens allowed.
During YOUR turn you will be assigned random words and/or images that must be incorporated in your freestyle.

Studio-like writing exercise. Emcees will get 10-15 minutes to write a verse ON THE SPOT as a guest producer constructs a beat, like would be done in a music studio. Minimum 12 bars, maximum 16 bars each.

Here you will have the opportunity to rock your own original performance and show everyone what you're really about as an artist. Try to perform something that shows who you are as an MC and will move the room, ya dig? This round can be a capella or with music.

Sign up NOW to reserve your spot in the competition! You will receive follow-up communication after completing your registration. Bring the BARS, see y'all soon!
