2020 Peggy Hallisey Leadership Award
Honors a member's long standing leadership in school librarianship at the state, regional and/or national level.
DESCRIPTION: This award honors a member of MSLA who has been a leader in the profession of school librarianship during the course of his/her 10+ year career. The honoree has demonstrated an exemplary commitment to 21st century learning and the advancement of school libraries through leadership at the state, regional and/or national level.
CRITERIA / ELIGIBILITY:
The nominee must have been a member of MSLA for a minimum of 8 years, have an extensive record of leadership on the MSLA Executive Board / task groups having served at least 6 years, hold state certification as a School Librarian or a MLS degree.
APPLICATION / NOMINATION PROCESS: Complete the online nomination form.
The nominee must submit a work history/resume. A member of MSLA may nominate another member of MSLA. The MSLA Executive Board will vote to present this award to a deserving individual. Up to three awards may be given, but this award will not be made if a suitable recipient is not nominated. Email any supporting documentation to
by the due date.
AWARD: Lifetime membership in MSLA, and a plaque. The Awards Committee will notify administrators and send press releases to state and local newspapers.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Write an article for the MSLA Forum, coordinated with the Forum editors. Submit a photograph for use on the MSLA website.
