The Southwest Coalition for Life is a leading pro-life non-profit organization with a mission of empowering YOU to help God end the violence of abortion across the Borderland region of West Texas and Southern New Mexico, peacefully and prayerfully. The Coalition aims to achieve this mission through  three areas of focus which are (1) OUTREACH, through our innovative “Her Care Connection” program including staffed sidewalk interns and new "Save the Storks" mobile ultrasound unit, (2) ACTION, through compassionate community prayer vigils including 40 Days for Life campaigns twice yearly, and (3) EDUCATION, including pro-active youth presentations and training for the broader pro-life community.

Our Mobile Medical Unit is primarily parked outside the local "Reproductive Services" and "Planned Parenthood" abortion facilities, where most women entering are not “pro-choice” but rather feel like they have no choice. Nationally, 4 out of 5 women who board a Storks Bus choose life for their children! We also occasionally work with other local ministries, churches, and organizations to bring our Mobile Medical Unit to schools, events, and areas where we can proactively help moms facing unexpected pregnancy choose life, before they ever look up the address or number for a local abortion center.

The Coalition for Life is looking for a volunteer sonographer to help one per week on Wednesdays from approximately 7:30am to 2:30pm. Schedule is subject to change based on the active hours of the abortion centers. There may also be an opening for paid employment depending on availability and need.

Candidates must be a certified Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS). New Mexico requires an additional state license for sonographers, but Texas does not, so you must also be licensed in New Mexico or willing to apply for the license at https://www.env.nm.gov/rcb/medical-imaging-radiation-therapy-program/

The Mobile Sonographer will follow our policies and procedures and function as a healthcare provider who, working under the delegated authority of our supervising physicians, serves as a medical imaging professional providing clinically relevant information to assist the physician with the diagnosis and treatment of patients who board the MMU. The Sonographer role and responsibilities include providing diagnostic medical sonography services and its various clinical specialties. The Sonographer activities are performed consistent with their education and training, and in accordance with organizational policies and procedures and applicable professional standards.
